Agronomes & Vétérinaires Sans Frontières (AVSF, Agronomists & Veterinarians Without Borders) is a French NGO that has been working for over 20 years in developing countries of Africa, Asia, Central America and South America. The association helps rural families who are the most threatened by poverty, hunger and exclusion. The mission of Agronomes & Vétérinaires Sans Frontières is to improve farming and stockbreeding techniques among these populations, help them produce their own food supply and implement sustainable solutions to remedy the food crisis.
The AVSF project concerns the development of rural women, their families and their communities through the transformation of their agricultural products and the promotion of their work. The aim is to improve the income and build the capacity of women from five communities in the Department of Matagalpa in Nicaragua and, in the medium term, foster socio-economic changes.
