You wish to offer direct support to a woman victim of violence and help her rebuild her life? If so, you can become involved with local partner organisations by the side of the PPR Foundation.
The partnership established with the American NGO Women for Women International (WWI) is one of the very first chosen by the PPR Foundation’s Board of Directors. WWI’s purpose is to help women victims of war violence rebuild their lives, in particular by developing an income generating activity.
A major part of WWI’s actions relies on sponsorships of women by private sponsors who provide both financial and emotional support: a one-on-one relationship is woven between the sponsor and her sponsored “sister”; exchanges of letters and e-mails provide women with encouragement and advice from their sponsor, and constitute a sound foundation for the beneficiaries to help them pursue their project to fruition.
The WWI project supported by the PPR Foundation addresses women war victims in four east African countries: Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Sudan. The project involves training trainers to guide women towards professional integration.
To sponsor a woman from this region, visit the NGO’s web site (link below) and click on the “Sponsor” heading: read the detailed information accessible on the situation in each country and the WWI projects rolled out locally, before you sign up for sponsorship and start building a relationship with a woman beneficiary.
