SolidarCité's Archives

The creation of the PPR Corporate Foundation for Women's Dignity and Rights in late January 2009, constitutes a new step ahead in PPR's social commitment, in a continuum with the  previous solidarity initiatives led by SolidarCité among other.

PPR Group had created SolidarCité in 2001 in the perspective of structuring and coordinating its employees' engagement by the side of NGOs, local public authorities and school establishments.

This initiative was in line with PPR group’s deep conviction that it should behave as a “good neighbour”, and contribute its expertise, resources and mobilising power in the service of community associations and stakeholders engaged in finding solutions to social problems.
All projects supported by SolidarCité always involved at least one PPR employee.

Whether on Employee Projects, Brand Projects, Solidarity Leave or Social Entrepreneurs’ Awards, the PPR Foundation leverages the past 8 years of close partnership with NGOs and of PPR staff's social commitment, to pursue its goals.

GOALS EVOLVING IN LINE WITH EMERGING SOCIAL ISSUES

Initially committed to social cohesion, SolidarCité had adjusted its goals in order to respond to new social issues. In 2004, the association had for instance refocused its actions to address social integration backed by equal opportunities, via support to equal access to employment and education and to community outreach initiatives.
In 2007, SolidarCité had focused on rallying the PPR employees around the theme of “Entrepreneurship for Education and Inclusion”, and several projects in favour of women have been sponsored since then.
