Co-hosted by Salma Hayek Pinault and François-Henri Pinault, the evening brought together Pamela Anderson, Simone Biles, Dakota Johnson, Benicio Del Toro, Nacho Figueras and Lorna Simpson as co-hosts, united around the Kering Foundation’s mission to help women and children live free from violence.
Kering Foundation Raises More Than $5 Million at Fifth Annual Caring for Women Dinner
The Kering Foundation’s fifth annual Caring for Women Dinner brought together a powerful community of advocates, artists, athletes, leaders and philanthropists in New York City on September 10, raising more than $5 million to support organizations working to end violence against women and children.

Since its creation in 2022, the Caring for Women Dinner has served as an annual moment to bring a broad community together around the systemic issue of gender-based violence. This year’s fundraising will benefit four organizations working across prevention, advocacy and survivor support: Activating Change, Fondo Semillas, JBWS and The New York Women’s Foundation.
A community united to end violence
The evening was hosted by a group whose collective influence spans culture, sport, art and philanthropy, reflecting the Foundation’s ambition to mobilize audiences far beyond the nonprofit sector.
A live auction featured one-of-a-kind items and experiences contributed by Kering’s Houses: Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Pomellato, Lorna Simpson, and others., while, for the first time, fundraising extended beyond the evening through a public online silent auction.
The generosity of guests and supporters ultimately raised more than $5 million, providing critical resources to four organizations addressing gender-based violence in distinct communities.
“Salma and I founded the Caring for Women Dinner five years ago because we refused to accept the rise in violence against women and children as a new normal,” said François-Henri Pinault, Chairman of Kering and the Kering Foundation. “The extraordinary generosity of this community has helped transform that conviction into action, bringing us closer to a future where every woman and child can live free from violence.”
Four organizations, one shared mission
The funds raised will support organizations whose work demonstrates the many dimensions of ending gender-based violence.
- Activating Change is the only U.S. nonprofit focused on ending violence against people with disabilities and Deaf people. Funds raised will enable Activating Change to expand access to safety, healing, and justice for women and girls with disabilities experiencing gender-based violence by increasing the capacity of victim service organizations to provide accessible and inclusive services, strengthening partnerships with disability organizations, providing direct accessibility support to survivors, and advancing systems change that transforms how the movement to end gender-based violence responds to survivors with disabilities.
- Fondo Semillas is a nonprofit organization in Mexico dedicated to providing funding, training, and support to women's groups working to advance gender equality. Funds raised will help women and girls affected by gender-based violence access stronger community-based support by investing in women-led grassroots organizations that are preventing violence, supporting survivors, and advancing access to justice across Mexico.
- JBWS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing domestic violence and empowering survivors through trauma-informed services, education, and advocacy in Morris and Passaic Counties (New Jersey). Funds raised will enable JBWS to establish Passaic County's first permanent, trauma-informed, pet-friendly domestic violence shelter, expanding access to safe housing and coordinated care for survivors and their children while creating lasting pathways to safety and independence.
-The New York Women's Foundation enables women, girls, and gender-expansive people to achieve economic security, exercise agency over their lives, and thrive in safe, equitable communities. Funds raised will help ensure that girls, young women, and gender-expansive youth affected by gender-based violence have sustained access to safe, responsive, and effective services by strengthening the community organizations that support them through long-term investment, capacity-building, and flexible funding.
Together, their work underscores a fundamental principle of the Kering Foundation: ending violence requires both immediate support for survivors and sustained investment in prevention and systemic change.
An evening of purpose, brought to life through culture
The program also reflected the spirit of the evening, with culture and entertainment creating a shared moment around the Foundation’s mission. Colman Domingo served as master of ceremonies, guiding guests through the evening. Rita Ora took to the stage for a special performance, bringing the dinner to a close, before Paris Hilton took over as DJ for the afterparty.
The evening’s combination of voices, talent and generosity demonstrated the power of collective action: when people from different worlds come together around a shared purpose, awareness can be transformed into essential resources for those working on the ground.
From generosity to lasting change
For nearly two decades, the Kering Foundation has worked alongside specialist organizations to prevent gender-based violence, support survivors and help break cycles of violence across generations.
Established in 2008, the Foundation partners with local organizations across France, Italy, Korea, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States, supporting comprehensive survivor services and prevention initiatives while mobilizing Kering’s ecosystem and broader audiences to take action. To date, it has supported one million women survivors and partnered with more than 130 nonprofit organizations.
